During the covid years, David was a college professor and had to return back to the farm to teach online since in-class sessions were cancelled. While at home, he noticed several trees had fallen around the farm and he decided to get a small sawmill to cut up the wood for use in various projects. He made a few tables, benches, and shelves and really enjoyed the process.
Wood is harvested from the farm and around East Tennessee. It is milled onsite before being air dried to maintain the natural wood grained character. In addition, David has tried to preserve the local heritage and meticulously taken down several old barns in the area and repurposed the wood for various projects. Each piece of furniture is designed and crafted by hand, making it truly one-of-a-kind. From the initial design to the final finish, David and his team puts their heart and soul into every piece that is created.
